white shaker cabinets // bubble glass pendants, similar here // copper wine rack // bar stools, home goods, similar here // candle

Our kitchen was the first major renovation we did to our home. We loved the potential this space had and couldn't wait to come up with a plan, strip it down to the studs and put our mark on it. And thats exactly what we did!

The two things I knew I wanted was 1. a large, bright, white kitchen; and 2. white/grey countertops. Anything else I was willing to negotiate on. I had my heart set on Carrera Marble but my hubby wasn't too excited about that as he always had his heart set on granite. We agreed on a granite called Super White. Super White is a white & gray granite that is so similar in look to my beloved Carrera Marble. Finding this beauty in real life, however, proved to be VERY challenging! No slab we found was quite right for our space, or it was and WAY over-priced.

About a month into our search, the granite/marble company we were working with told us he had some marble leftover from a project and would save us quite a bit of money to use it...we went and had a look, fell in love, loved the fact that we were saving HUGE dollars, and went with it! We chose to hone the marble because it was suggested for a kitchen that we do so...in hindsight, Id not do this, and we may glaze our countertops still. Another post on that later....

I will link as many links as I can find but feel free to ask questions!

So, here is our kitchen when we moved in....

As you can see, when we moved in our home possessed a LOT of orange, yellow and brown. Yikes. When you're a neutral loving, cool toned kinda girl...thats a painful thing to behold. BUT we always saw the potential and the beauty in the bones and structure of this kitchen...it just needed some rearranging and some design love.

As you can see, we pulled it down to the studs. Our home, when we first moved in, was one example after the next of poorly done work. In almost every room this was true, all the way down to the drywall. My sweet dad and hubby did ALL the work building it back up to a sturdy, properly done kitchen. They even installed the cabinets!
AFTER...One of my husbands firefighter buddies installed the herringbone tile with him and its my absolute favorite element of this kitchen! It is so, so beautiful and exactly what I had dreamt up in my head for the space.

The navy paint color was a recent upgrade that was a BOLD choice for me. Like Ive mentioned before my first choice is white, my second is gray. I don't typically go much beyond that in paint color. haha.  But we have this beautiful white space and I was in LOVE with some inspiration pictures I saw on Pinterest of beautiful, navy blue, moody rooms and thought Id take the risk. Guys....I LOVE it! Im such a fan.

Notice something that needs updating? #merryandbright😆

Well, that completes my kitchen tour/renovation! I hope you enjoyed :) If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
