Foyer Table // Basket // Throw [Home Goods, similar here] // Blush Pillow [Target, similar here] // Vase [last year, similar here] // Brass Terrarium // Faux Succulent

In my opinion, one of the most important elements in home design is the feeling of being home. To me, that feeling is tangible. When I walk into my parents home, I feel that feeling; my shoulders drop, and I feel physically lighter. In my current home, with my husband three tiny littles (through foster care), I have that same feeling. Home should be functional, but also cozy, warm, inviting and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

As you walk through our home, you'll notice a mixture of warm woods, brass metallics, rustic elements, and only one of two colors: blush and/or grey-blue. Because the entryway sets the tone of the home, you'll notice that all of those elements are included in my entryway.

Another thing I love to do is mix high(er)-end pieces with affordable ones! This is the key to a well balanced home! You don't need to spend a fortune to have a beautiful, well decorated home! Our entryway piece is not cheap...but its very well made, sturdy and timeless. I also know that if we move, or if I want to move it elsewhere it will work in so many different spaces. This is a good investment, in my opinion! I snagged it when West Elm was doing a 20% off sale and I am so very glad I did! Everything around it can be found at places like Target, HomeGoods and Hobby Lobby. As you'll see here, the accent elements are all extremely adorable, versatile pieces that I mix up through the seasons. Bottom line: when you're designing a space choose wisely when finding base pieces (ie. furniture) and have FUN with the rest!
